Inter created some space for themselves at the top of Serie A with their 1-0 win over Juventus on Sunday.

Inter have been the pace setters in Italy and their tally of 57 points in 22 games is their second-best ever at this stage in the season. A few of Inter’s key players left in the summer and on paper it looked like a weaker side would be taking to the field this season, but the replacements have only made them stronger.

Italy is known for its defensive style of football and Inter have shown that the season, with 14 clean sheets in their 22 games so far. Meanwhile Juve have also been tough to beat this season, with the defeat to Inter being just their second all season.

Juve scored 16 goals in their first four games of 2024, but Inter’s defence was too strong on Sunday and made all the difference.

It sets us up for an entertaining second-half of the season. Serie A has had four different title winners in the past four years, and it’s been much more open than a few years ago when Juventus were dominating. Inter have the advantage with a four-point gap and a game in hand, but we’ve all seen the pressure that this can bring.

it will be a mental battle as much as a tactical one for Inter now, while Juve will keep the pressure up to the maximum, and AC Milan have an outside chance of catching up if they can find consistent form. #mmlove
