It’s the last chance for clubs in Europe to finish their summer signings but we expect there to be a lot of business on deadline day as the door closes on transfers until the new year.
Matthijs de Ligt to Man United has been an interesting signing after 5 years at Juventus and Bayern since he left Ajax. De Ligt has won plenty of trophies but has not yet made the huge mark that he expected of himself, or he would have stayed at Bayern. As a young prodigy he is still aged 25 and it will be interesting to see if Ten Hag can get the very best out of him. They have worked well together before so we can expect a lot from them both.
One of the most exciting transfers in the Premier League is Savinho who joined Man City after a great season at Girona, and he could easily turn out to be one of the best and most entertaining wingers in the league. If this great talent continues we will easily be saying Pep did it again. I still sometimes ask myself why no one else went to secure the deal earlier because he is a great player who will test defenders in each game, and that’s what prompted City to get the deal done early.
Dewsbury-Hall is another player that has caught some attention after his move from Leicester to Chelsea. The reason this transfer is an interesting one is because he also joins Chelsea manager Enzo Marseca from Leicester, so the two know each other very well and means he might slot easily into the system at Chelsea.
I know the game of football is not always easy but I hope the players and club can operate in the classier way like they used to. The big question at Chelsea is will Osimhen enter the club or not?
Calafiori’s move to Arsenal could prove to be an important one as Arteta challenges for the title again. His versatility at the back could be just what Arteta needs to gain those final margins on City who have beaten them to the title in the past two seasons.
