How beautiful is football when you see a player, who shocked the world when we saw him hitting the floor in an awful incident, return to the main stage and sign for a new club.

We often hear the stories of players having difficulties of succeeding because of health reasons. It seems like every week we hear of more players going through some kind of injury or struggles to get properly fit. When I heard my old team Ajax allowed Eriksen to join the youth team to train, many people including myself didn’t think he could get back to the top level.

But now seeing him back in the Premier League after passing his medical at Brentford, we will see him on the field again in one of the most physically intense leagues in the world. This will be a victory for him that some will never understand, after a career doing something you love so much, and then people tell you you will never be able to do again, but you prove them wrong.

This is what we play for, to show doubters that they are wrong when they tell us we can’t do it anymore. Having people showing this side of achievement, overcoming the odds with their personal battles, is one of the great things I like to see more of.

Eriksen will be playing in a system and for a coach that enjoys playing football in a style that involves taking risks and trying to control the game for the whole match. This is something a player that is as tactically gifted and has the level of understanding of the game that Eriksen has, will fit in with. The team is fighting to find a way of playing that doesn’t rely on luck, because it is their first season in the Premier League which is always a challenge.

We have seen the journey of teams doing great when they come up the first season and struggle after that. To create consistency you need experience and quality to keep on reading and to change the luck into normality.

I look forward to seeing Eriksen bring a smile to my and other football fans’ faces, as we see him overcome his health issues. It will be a great moment when he walks out onto the pitch for the first time since his incident.

He is also an example to all of us of what happens when you believe in yourself and work hard, and how doing so can make you do more than you thought you could. #mmlove
