The Adama Traore story is a very interesting one, as the Spanish winger is rumoured to be leaving Wolves. I like him a lot as a player when he does the things you need from an attacker.
He uses his speed and strength to put the opposition defenders in real trouble. His physicality is unquestionable, but the main thing you would ask as a manager potentially looking to sign Traore is does he score enough goals?
He has one goal in 20 games, starting 10 of those games, and that isn’t yet an impressive rate by today’s standards of attacking players. I use the word yet because this is a player that could do way more and should aim for more with all the qualities he has.
The 25-year-old has been at Wolves since 2018 and has been a big part of Wolves success in the Premier League since their promotion.
He gets too cold in some games, where he doesn’t get involved as much as you would want, and I am not sure he is ready to change things around because that is what he will be having to do at Spurs.
I do imagine him and Son with the goal threat of Kane up front would be a deadly force. Just seeing him play at Spurs would be great for his personal development and can get him to live up to the expectations of being an ex Barcelona player who must have learned a lot of football intelligence with his Premier League experience.
Conte should be seeing the potential that many can’t see just yet. And that would be for Traore to become one of the keys that could help Spurs create big problems for opponents. When they face the top four teams at the moment, the difference is too big and Conte has spoken about that when he said they will need more than one transfer widows to build a winning team. But Traore could be that important first player.
I am looking forward to seeing a fit, organised team with the mentality of never giving up that Conte will bring to his players. #mmlove
