Chelsea’s season feels like it is finally up and running after back-to-back wins in the League Cuo against Brighton and now in the Premier League against the West London rivals Fulham. It was a derby but the Blues were ready for Fulham’s high press in the first half. They scored early and Fulham didn’t take their chances in the second half by building pressure on Chelsea.

There’s been a lot of criticism of this young Chelsea squad because of how much money has been invested into the talent, and when you spend big money there are always going to be big expectations so when the team doesn’t perform to that level it brings a lot of attention.

Pochettino has himself admitted that Chelsea has a lot of young players with little experience that are being developed into the team at once, and even though there are huge talents on show, having a lack of experience throughout the squad means there needs to be more time and patience before the results start coming.

£88m signing Mykhailo Mudryk is one of those players who has taken a little time to settle, but he finally opened his Premier League account with his first goal since joining in January. We could all see how much it meant to him because of how hard he has been working on himself.

Another 22-year-old Armando Broja earned his first start since recovering from a serious knee injury, and got a goal just 82 seconds after Mudryk’s to help earn the Blues’ second successive win. To see Broja playing without any fear after such a big injury was impressive.

Cole Palmer’s passing was also impressive, and the assist of Colewill to Mudryk was special. It was a lot for Fulham to deal with, and all of this gave signs that Pochettino is going to be able to get the best out of his young talents with a little bit more time.

When you look at the other big clubs in the league there is a much older average age in the squad, and it’s no secret that Chelsea’s plan is future-focused. Now it’s all about building on these wins and increasing momentum start climbing the table!
