A team that is catching a lot of attention in Europe at the moment is the great Italian club Napoli under their manager Luciano Spalletti.

Napoli are top of Serie A, currently unbeaten and one of the most exciting teams to watch scoring an average of 2.5 goals per game in the league. For comparison, Man City are scoring an average of 2.4 goals per game, so we know that means Napoli are firing well.

Their form in the Champions league has been just as, if not more impressive, as they slotted four past Liverpool, three past Rangers and six against Ajax. They play so fluidly and would be a threat against any side in Europe.

There is a long, long way to go in the season but Napoli are making themselves known as serious contenders for both the Italian League title and also the Champions League if things go their way. They’ve already proved themselves against Liverpool, and it would be interesting to see how they do in the final 16 which they have already qualified for.

The guy that has gotten a lot of people’s attention is the left winger of Napoli called Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The 21-year-old from Georgia has great dribbling skills mixed with the pace to take on anyone. He has no fear while also looking humble so it’s no surprise to see his winning side every week. He is a joy to watch and while I had watched him facing my old team Ajax twice, it was clear to see the young talent has more coming. 

Napoli’s league rivals Atalanta are also unbeaten this season, and they are another dark horse. Atalanta were in the Champions League three seasons in a row after finishing in the top four of Serie A each time, but last season ended up 8th which meant they missed out on Europe altogether. This could have been an advantage for them in the league this season, with no distractions from the league they are also mounting their charge for the title.

It’s an exciting time in Serie A, especially for neutral fans as the Juventus domination has ended for now and it is harder to predict who will take the silverware. It wouldn’t be crazy to bet on Napoli or Atalanta the way they are playing at the moment. #mmlove
