There are just over 10 games left to play for each team in the Premier League this season, and things are heating up at both ends of the table in the fight for trophies, Champions League football and safety from the drop.
Arsenal are back to their best, winning five in a row after going three games without a win at the start of February and are now sitting pretty at the top, five points clear of Man City who are the only team who can realistically catch them, as the next closest team Man Utd are 13 points behind if they win their game in hand.
That will be an exciting race to the finish, but at the other end of the table we have nine teams who still are not safe from the drop, with just five points separating all nine teams.
It was a funny weekend of results that saw Bournemouth beat Liverpool, who had themselves just dismantled Man Utd 7-0. Not many saw the Liverpool win over United coming, but similarly who would have thought Bournemouth would then beat Liverpool the following week. That three points was a massive boost that put them level on points with West Ham and Leicester, who sit just outside the relegation zone
Southampton are the team at the very bottom of the table but they also took a point away from Old Trafford against a 10-man United side. The Saints had beaten Chelsea a few weeks ago, as well as Leicester more recently, so they are enjoying a bit of a new manager bounce which could lift them out of the bottom three if they can continue to grind to get some points.
Leeds are second from bottom but also picked up a valuable point at the weekend against Brighton, while Everton earned a 1-0 win. Forest, Wolves and Crystal Palace were all beaten, and Leicester were too to make it four straight defeats for them, and this has pulled all of these teams into the relegation battle.
The next few games will be crucial to see who will have the best form and the best fight in them to pick up points and drive towards safety.
This race to survive is interesting because a lot of the teams need to play the clubs that are fighting for Champions League spots. Everton have to meet maybe four including Chelsea, who are in an interesting winning flow and are working to get some respect again.
I am still keeping my eye on Everton because I think their mindset is being changed into a team that knows it is hard to beat, by Dyche. They have shown they can win 1-0 so this might drive them to push through and keep winning, which would make them feel like they won the league. #mmlove
