There’s a new star in La Liga and a new hero for Real Madrid. Jude Bellingham has made the perfect start at his new club, and the way he impacts the game make it easy to forget he is still just 20 years old.
After Real’s opening day win against Athletic Bilbao, Carlo Ancelotti said: “He has a lot of personality and has adapted very quickly. It already seems like he’s been with us for a long time.”
Bellingham is a player who seems wise beyond his years and is a natural leader. We all knew he is a very talented player after seeing him play for England and in the Champions League for Dortmund, but when a younger player moves to a new club and a new league it can be a big learning curve that needs time to let them adapt, but Jude has started with a bang.
He has scored 5 goals in Real’s opening four games, including the 96th-minute winner at the weekend against Getafe.
He was named La Liga’s player of the month in August, his first ever month in the league, and it’s clear to see why with the influence he has on games. He has been the stand-out man for Real Madrid so far, and this is a team that contains so much world-class talent and quality.
We’re very early in the season but Bellingham is an instant hit, and when you have this much confidence and momentum you can only see it continuing with the great performances and goals.
He’s playing further forward than he has in the past and Ancelotti has given him the freedom to make darting runs into the box to get goals-scoring opportunities. So far it’s working and Bellingham has an instinct that you normally only see with forwards.
I’m looking forward to seeing his development under Ancelotti and at Madrid, because at the moment it feels like he has the world at his feet and I am enjoying it. #mmlove
