It’s getting heated in Italy as Milan’s two clubs fight for the Serie A title along with Napoli and Juventus.
With 10 games left to play, it could go any way but AC Milan are leading the race and hoping for their first title since 2011. Since then, Juventus have dominated the league winning the title 9 times in a row before Inter finally knocked them off top spot last season. That period of domination ended with Ronaldo also leaving Juve, and they are currently in fourth place, but still with an outside chance of beating the teams above them to the silverware.
The shock of their top young player Chiesa getting injured must also have had a big impact on the team.
Inter tasted glory last season with the likes of Lukaku leading the charge, and they’re now in second place with a game in hand over their local rivals who share the same stadium, AC Milan.
AC Milan took top spot after beating Napoli 1-0 thanks to Oliver Giroud, who was the main man who scored the decisive goal a month earlier against Inter. Giroud has always been a quality player and he’s currently the man who the younger player at AC will look up to for his experience.
The Frenchman is now 35 years old but is still making his impact and could be the key man to help AC Milan lift that first trophy on over a decade. He’s one of those players that can score a crucial goal in a big game, as he has proved this season, and he will act as a good role model for the young players at Milan.
Juventus, Napoli and Inter won’t give up the fight easy and as we enter the last 10 games of the season it’s an exciting time in Italian football after a period where Juventus made it look easy with their world-class talent and tactics.
I’m happy to see the Italian League having that high level of quality and competition again. #mmlove
