There’s something special about seeing a players come through a football academy from a young age and then make it into the first team and make an impact.
That’s exactly what Mason Greenwood has done at Manchester United, being the man to watch since the Premier League resumed. He’s scored in his last three United games, taking his tally for the season to 16. If he continues to be prolific in-front of goal he has a real chance of becoming the highest scoring teenager in a single season for United, overtaking Rooney and George Best. He needs two more goals to take that record.
There are few teenagers in the world who are as good at finishing as this guy, and he’s already shown glimpses that he can become a superstar.
He’s quick, plays direct and can use both feet. Former United player Clayton Blackmore said “He’s the first person I’ve seen that takes penalties and free-kicks with his wrong foot. I’ve never come across anyone like that!”
He’s very comfortable and looks like he’s always doing what he want to. I know a lot of people will say it’s normal but this guy has a clear vision and he has so far managed to achieve it at a big club.
He entertains us almost every time he plays and always looks to be where he can be the most dangerous. To achieve that at a club like United must motivate him to do it for a long time to come.
There will be a lot of hype around him and one of his big challenges will be to stay focused and keep a level head so that he can develop into the player he is capable of becoming, it will be an exciting journey and he’s one of the players I look forward to watching over the coming years. #mmlove
